Samsung ML 1755 Printer – The Excellent Individual Printer

With dimensions of 13.8 x 14.6 inches, the Samsung ML 1755 is one of the smallest laser printers around today. This is the perfect printer if you have very limited space and budget. You can even use this in a dormitory since it produces minimal noise when it is printing. The small size does not diminish the quality of the prints created by the ML 1755 printer toners.

The ML 1755 has four times the memory size of its twin, the ML 1750. This machine is categorized as a personal laser printer, but it has enough toner and paper capacity for office use. It has a 250 sheet paper tray, which is more than twice the size of most printers in its class. The tray can be adjusted to hold 11″ x 14″ legal size paper without using any more space.

The machine has a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 600 dpi, which makes it great for printing simple text and graphics. However, if you are going to use this for photo printing, this is not the printer for you. The photo printing quality was too grainy. The sharpness of its prints is not good enough for detailed printing.

The speed is faster than most personal laser printers as it is able to print 17 pages in a minute. In addition, the device uses both parallel and USB ports. This is great for people who have a very limited number of USB ports. Sad to say, it does not have any internal Ethernet port.

The 32-megabyte memory is more than enough to handle heavy loads of printing. There is also an optional external adapter you can use to connect the device to your home or office network. The drivers support Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems. This makes it perfect if you have a Mac book and a Windows based personal computer.

This machine has one button and two LEDs in its control panel. The single button has several functions, which are controlled by the way you press it. The LEDs can also indicate paper jams or other problems, but you would have to check with the manual to know what the flash codes mean.

It is bundled with a 1,000 page yield Samsung printer toners. We highly recommend buying a standard toner cartridge for $70 that can print up to 3,000 pages. This is to make sure that you will not run out of toner is less than a month’s time. Each printed page cost around 2.33 cents, which is one of the cheapest among personal laser printers. Unfortunately, Samsung does not offer high-yield toner cartridges for this model.

The bundled software can be used for Microsoft Windows 2000 or better. It even supports various versions of the Linux operating system. Unfortunately, the utility CD does not include any support for Mac OS X 10.3 or later, but it can be downloaded from the website. You can even download the latest drivers that support the Mac OS X 10.5.

Even though the Samsung ML 1755 has limited photo-printing capability, it is still a great laser printer. The large memory and multi-platform software is what makes this device worth its price. Having both parallel and USB is just an added bonus for the end user. Just remember, this is a printer built for documents, and it is not intended for photo and detailed printing.

The printing this machine is designed for is enhanced by the Samsung ML 1755 cartridge, which offers the sharpness usually associated with higher end machines.Samsung ML printer toners is available locally, however, users may find online retailers have laser printer toner cartridges at prices that just cant be matched.
