Onscreen keypad for the iphone – What a nightmare

People across the country have been queing up to get the new iphone 3GS which now supports updated video technology and new messaging system. The hype is true – The iphone is worth while? Of course, the answer would be, YES! Of course it is worth it! Yet, when we analyse the set up of the new iphone we do unfortunately come into a few road blocks which are quite annoying.

The biggest issue with the current iphone has got to be the onscreen keyboard. For me, I much prefer the Blackberry keypad as the keyboard is built directly into the phone. Surely, this has got to be worse? Negative, on the other hand I would say it is far better. Although the iPhone does offer an onscreen touchpad it is extremely annoying to use. Its a case of the old classic your fingers are too big for the screen. You punch one key and end up with the wrong letter. There are several areas on the iphone which are very hard to use.

Computer keyboards are harder to replicate the smaller they get however having one on screen does seem like the logical choice for a phone like the iphone. Let us hope that educational keyboards dont end up this hard to use as I am struggling to get use to how a wireless keyboard works myself.

People have been complaining about this problem for far too long and Apple need to do something about it. Many of my friends own the iphone and on numerous occassions I have heard them complain about the keypad on it. The Blackberry is far more easy to use. It is definitely worth considering when you purchase your next phone. If you are thinking of whether to buy an iphone or Blackberry remember that the touch screen keypad on the iphone is not of the best quality.
